My non-fixed female flemish bites very hard. ONLY when i pick her up and when she gets a little roudy at play.
She doesn’t care if it hurts me (so “eek” makes her do it more). She does it when she thinks I’m going to pick her up.taking her out of her cage is usually fine. She cannot be spayed. Why is it that when she thinks she’s going to her cage she fights for her life, but she has a good living space. She’s very happy otherwise, flops/binkies LOTS very cuddly, gives kisses and listens to commands. Fed properly and healthy.

We often have to work around their little idiosyncrasies. I’m surprised she’s OK with you taking her out of the cage, actually. Can you just herd her back into her cage, or crinkle a bag and toss a treat in it? My guy will come running from anywhere at the sound of a treat bag. If he doesn’t go right in, I give his butt a shove and close the door 🙂

Is she too young yet to be spayed? It’s too bad to have to wait, as that would likely reduce or completely eliminate the behaviour.

In the meantime, can you just train her to go to her cage? Like don’t give her her pellets or salad, and then when she needs to return to her cage, put the pellets or salad in the cage and allow her to make her way there on her own.
