Man, it’s hard to find info on rabbits with this.

The recommended dose on the various websites range from “use a whole tube of kitten” to “use the same as you would a cat that weight” to “use only PART of the kitten tube, only a couple of drops if a small rabbit” …

My two are 6 and 8lbs. So I erred on the side of caution and used a kitten tube.

Do you guys think that will take care of the fleas (they got them probably from the stupid mice that invaded our home during winter) ? I’ve been flea combing them and such, just put the topical on today. Much to Powder’s disapproval. Then I had to spend the next hour distracting him with food and pets to keep him from trying to groom it all off… (putting that on a rabbit seems to cause a much larger “wet spot” than putting it on a dog). Now, it’s dry and he is leaving it alone.

All the vets in town think ALL topicals are as bad as frontline, so they were useless in getting information on treating fleas in a rabbit. I got told to BATHE them with CAT flea shampoo from walmart. Blergh. No, I am not bathing my bunny. Even I know that is a bad idea. HRS says Advantage (Is advantage II the same stuff as the original?) and revolution are OK. Revolution actually was tested on rabbits by the company, so I went with them.

So, currently, sitting here hoping I used enough from the information I could cobble together from various HRS/forum/other rabbit site sources. And that they won’t have a bad reaction to it (one of my dogs was allergic to advantage, even though it’s typically safe) because I don’t trust the vets around here given they think the only way to handle fleas in a bun is through daily flea baths.

Roberta had a conversion chart for Revolution dosage. Not sure where it came from.

Yep, Revolution should sort out fleas.
Is the kitten pack 0,25ml per tube? 60mg strength?
A full tube should be fine for your guys.

Yeah 0.25ml per tube, 60mg strength. By that chart, looks a little under dose? I think. Metric converting everything is such a pain… why can’t we just teach metric over here! lol

Probably a little under but that stuff can be pretty effective. Sometimes you don’t even need do the follow up doses.

If you do, you could maybe increase it for the 2nd round? At least you’ll have had a month to see how they’ve gone on the lower dose.

Hopefully it works. They’ve been itchy and I keep pulling fleas off. Which, is HARD in rabbits. I could comb/pick them off the dogs np. But, Stickers is a rex and her fur is IMPOSSIBLE to get anything out of. And Powder’s fur is so thick, I have to spend 5 minutes working a single flea out of it with the comb. I took all their stuff out and washed it – for which I got thumped at severely by Stickers (how dare I steal her cat condo…) and treated our carpets with flea killer powder. Just waiting for the time to pass so I can vacuum that up now (not in their room, their room is wood and gets vinegar baths).

And.. that stuff is expensive. 2 kitten tubes was $35!
