Meeko wont let me hold her and clip her fur, NOR brush it. It’s getting poofy (she’s angora), and I want to trim it up again because it gets stuff stuck in it, not to mention wool block and poo stuck. What do I do? I can’t hold her down, she squirms away, ive tried doing it when we have pet time, or using kale, but she grabs the kale and runs away when i start clipping. Help!

I think some people have put their rabbits up on a table to kinda throw them off a bit. But don’t let her jump off!
How old is she? Hopefully she will learn to enjoy this if you can get her started. Sounds like you need a couple of people to help. I think rabbits are a bit like cats sometimes. The more you restrain the more they fight. Not really sure what to suggest, unless covering her head with a towel would maybe calm her??

She’s 4 months. Young lil bun yet, and I doubt putting her on a table would help but I will try it. Nothing seems to work, even if i brush during pets time, she wont let me do it enough to untangle her wooly sides and especially trim her booty!

combing tends to be more effective than brushing.

Though many angoras will let you hold them to groom, others want to be on a solid surface. A coffee table can work well for this. Sit on the floor and put the bunny on the coffee table.

When you need to do her underside, sit comfortably on the floor. Sit her upright in your lap, with her back against your belly and her bottom on you legs. Holding her upper body and front paws. Then comb her underside being careful not to get in kicking range of her hind legs.

Train the bunny to accept grooming. First, comb a wee bit, then give the treat. Make the treat a reward for being combed, not a distraction. No treat till combing is done. Once she is being cooperative, gradually extend the grooming session till you can do the whole bunny. It will not work over night, so be patient.

Thanks eepster, I will try. She has been letting me brush a bit with a comb to get the loose hairs out, and then i’ll treat her, she doesn’t ever sit still enough for me to get the belly or butt area, ever. no trancing or anything. She’s a tough one!
