        Hey all..

I had my Ara spayed just under two weeks ago, all went well but she stayed in over night as there was no gut movement. When i got her back home the next day she still had no gut movement until 8pm and it was crazy bunny diarrhea… so bad that she had to go back to the vets and have her bottom shaved and a butt bath…ALL IS OK NOW haha.

ANYWAY! when i took her in she had just gotten over a 2 week long hormonal burst of pooping a peeing all over the house and doing the love dance around my feet and my cat. Im happy to say this has all stopped now and not one poop or pee out of her litter box.. the only thing is….. SHES TEARING EVERYTHING TO BITS! she scratches and my legs if im in her way, she has torn up the carpet and chewing the corners of the walls. she jumps on my bed and grunts and digs on my hair!. I had to block off behind the washing machine as shes been chewing the wall!

I know it takes sometime for the hormones to level out but she was never ever this grumpy!

She still comes in for cuddles at 6am but that’s about it for affection..

Please shed some light on my grumpy bun xxx

shaved butt, spayed, diahrrea. I’d be pretty ticked off too! I’m not vet or animal psychologist, but between the ordeal and waiting for the hormones in the process of levelling out maybe it’s just a matter of giving her time. mind you, this is me speculating! if someone has an educated answer on this (as I haven’t had Rocket go under the knife yet) chime in

Haha yeah she was certainly not happy!

after the spay shes gone down to 1.52kg now but she allllllways wants to eat…. she even stole a cat biscuit out of my cats bowl! so that even has to be put away at the moment. she has unlimited hay 3 types! with greens and pellets sometimes a little treat like a bit carrot or a bit of sweet fruit but i feel like she is eating this soo much faster than before she was spay
