I recently took Obi-bun to the vet as he was due for a by cloudscout/Resources/Shared/scripts/widgets.js”> check-up but he also sneezed a week prior to the appointment & had a lot of discharge come out. That was the only time it happened, he’s always sneezed a lot as it is ever since I got him. The vet said everything with him looks great & sounds good, but he had a very light temperature so just to be on the safe side, he told me to isolate Obi in case he may have an upper respiratory infection.

They been separated for about a week now, vet said not to put him back until he’s back to normal which is hard to tell with him since sneezing is his normal. His temperature is fine again though & he seems ok to me, I moved him back into the room today & Mimzy is not happy at all. I’m not sure if I need to re-bond or not. She went after him as soon as I put him down but she was far more aggressive than I expected. I finally got them on the same condo level nose to nose. I then ran the vacuum by cloudscout/Resources/Shared/scripts/widgets.js”> cleaner but she still wanted to attack & then they separated & stayed on different floors.

I put food down since neither had their breakfast yet. They ate together a little bit & then Mimzy sat back & by cloudscout/Resources/Shared/scripts/widgets.js”> watched Obi for a while. They were on the same floor level & Mimzy was just smelling him for a while & she’ll somewhat relax & leave him alone but then she goes after him again. Do I need to start the bonding process all over? It’s like she knows who he is but she’s maybe trying to re-assert her dominance since he’s been gone a week?

At this very moment, they are both laying on the room floor, at a distance from each other but both have been relaxed for a good 10 mins. I’m just not sure if I need to start all over with unfamiliar territory?

They both stayed like this for a good whole by cloudscout/Resources/Shared/scripts/widgets.js”> minute:

These are also all from today:

It seems likely you will need to do some re-bonding steps. I would do several bonding sessions a day in neutral territory and take it from there. It won’t be as difficult as a new bond but there will most likely be some dominance issues.

Thanks LPT! I’ve had Obi caged in the bathroom during his isolation. I think I’ll do a cage swap for the night. I got them to eat a little bit together but then she went after him again :/ Surprisingly there hasn’t been any territory marking outside the litter box, that’s a relief but don’t want to speak too soon

Mimzy has walked right past Obi a couple times without lunging or anything so hopefully this rebond won’t take too long. Maybe also do a few car rides

This was them eating dinner tonight! Looks fairly promising

Little late in replying to you LPT! They’re doing great They only took a few days to bond. I had them in the stroller for the majority of one of the days & just moved it if Mimzy got a little feisty. Surprisingly Obi-bun was trying to dominate Mimzy at one point! I took them on a little walk which also seemed to help & then placed them in my room to see how they would do but turned out they still needed some time. I used their carrier since they associate that with the dreaded visit to the vet & a few more walks the following day. They’re back together now!! & plenty of bunny snuggles! Thanks for checking in!
