My rabbit recently started peeing a creamy yellow pee and I have no idea why. After using the litter a few times the sediment in the pee settled at the bottom and left behind a smooth, fine, and soft substance. She has been peeing like this for a week but other than that is completely fine. She poops normally and is probably more active than usual. Could it be early stages of sludge or is it normal for a rabbit to pee like that. We are going on vacation in 3 weeks and I really don’t want to leave her like that in case there is something wrong.

Rainbow bunny pee is normal. it can start at the dark brown end of the spectrum down to almost clear. As long as the urine is not excessively thick and sticky it is probably just a result of something with a high calcium level in her last meal, like kale. If it is extremely thick like a sludge then you might need to take a quick visit to the vet.
Is someone staying with her whilst you are away or will they be dropping in daily to feed and water her ?

Ok her pee is still watery and I will try making other changes in her diet to see if that changes anything. And someone will be dropping in daily and staying with her for an hour or two each day to keep her a bit of company.

As Roberta said, it’s not a problem unless theres bladder sludge, which is thick and pasty. The appearance of their urine varies a lot and that’s normal and not a sign of illness or wrong diet. Don’t expect your bunny’s pee to be clear and yellow at all times, it won’t be and actually it shouldn’t be. Rabbits should eliminate calcium via the urine, that’s a peculiarity of the rabbit species. You may also see orange or even red pee, and that’s not a problem either.

Here are some pictures, two examples of normal pee and one of how it should NOT look, the picture labelled “sludge”: http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Uro_gen_diseases/generalities/Sludge.htm
