If your bunny is 8 months old, you can start measuring his or her pellets. A 6 month old bunny may still need unlimited pellets, but they shouldn’t be overfed either.

My adult New Zealand is 7 pounds. For rabbits 5 – 7 pounds, it is recommended that they get 1/4 cup of pellets a day. If a rabbit is 8 – 10 pounds, they would get 1/2 cup of pellets each day. Those are the recommended amounts from one rabbit savvy vet, you might find other amounts listed from other sources.

An adult rabbit can have 2 cups or more each day of the recommended greens and veggies. A variety of greens each day is best, but if a rabbit has never had greens or veggies before, start with one kind, then a week later add another kind, etc.

Your rabbit should have unlimited grass hay at all times.

Depends on the pellets and the size of your bunny, but tobyluv gave a pretty good ballpark estimate to get you started.

At 6-8 months of age, you can probably switch to an adult pellet.

As for greens/veggies, shoot for 2 cups per day. It really is however much your bunny will eat though. For a 6lb bunny, I think the recommendation would be 3 cups. But I know mine would never eat that much. LOL

My rabbit is such a fatty, she can eat forever .

What weight should she be at this age cause im quite nervous about her getting overweight and not being able to clean herself and run around etc..

And thanks for all the replies , they were really helpful xx

If she’s 8 months now, she might be done “growing”. But she might still fill out some more before she reaches one year. If she is 6lbs now, then she might end up being 7 or 8lbs. It’s hard to say though. I think maximum weight for New Zealands is supposed to be 12lbs or something similar, but most don’t get that big.

There is no harm in switching to an adult pellet now. The baby formulas are higher in calories.
