I have a Holland Lop rabbit thats around 5 years old. I got her from a breeder, used her for showing a couple years but now she’s just a pet! Lately I’ve noticed she’s not eating her pellets. She eats her hay everyday. First I thought it might be teeth problems but I checked them and they look fine. Then I thought she might be depressed because just recently my other rabbit passed away but they had almost no interacting besides ones cage being on top of the others. It’s also been pretty hot lately but there’s a fan in the garage and I always give her frozen water bottles. Along with not eating her pellets her poop has been really tiny. She’s drinking and acting normal otherwise so hoping someone might have an idea of whats going on. My other problem is there are little to no rabbit vets around me. All we have are small animal vets (dogs, cats) that don’t know how to properly care for rabbits. Thanks!

Generally the time to get worried is if the bunny doesn’t eat hay. As long as a bunny eats hay it’s going to be fine for a very long while. Dental issues typically manifest themselves in a reluctance to eat tough food i e hay+ very often stomach issues like gas and sticky poop. Maybe your bun eats less pellets because it’s hot weather?
