So Snowball has about two or three cuts on his ears and I’m not sure why. My best guess is that he’s been scratching himself too much. They’re not deep at all but I’m just wondering how they appeared. When we saw the first cut we cleaned it with a q-tip, trimmed his claws and filed them a bit but it doesn’t seem to work as it looks like there are fresh cuts now. I can’t think of any time he could have gotten hurt there as they look quite recent. Any suggestions?

No idea at all on the cause but I think you can just lave them to heal. Is he indoors?

You should check the cuts every day for signs of infection (redness, swelling, exsudate (meaning liquid or any kind of goo coming out the sores). If there’s nothing of that, I think you can just let them heal on their own. Don’t touch them or mess with them if they look fine.

If on the other hand the sores grow bigger or start to look infected, you need to take action.
