So I was just surfing around the internet and I started to wonder…

        1) If I ever got another bun I would want to rescue one. Would it be possible to bond an older unspayed bun to a spayed one or would I have to keep them seperated? I know it is not recommended but was just wondering if it was possible.

also what is the age limit of spaying/neutering? Like if I was to ever rescue an older bun (like 5 years old) would that be too old to spay?

I was just wondering, and I currently have no plans of adopting another bun. This is just kinda for future references.

        Thanks in advance!

I asked a similar question and was told as long as the rabbit was in good health you can spay at almost any age. Using your best judgment of course. However personally, if I was going to adopt a bun over 5 years old I would adopt a male so the surgery is less invasive.

Were are you wanting a rescue a bunny from Moxie? Most shelters will spay/neuter the bunny before adopting it out.

We only have 1 rabbit rescue in my state, it’s over a few hours away (and yes they are all fixed) and they usually only have a couple buns. But they are super picky and don’t really want you to have predator animals (like dogs or cats). Also, they said they MUST do a home check, and because I live so far away they are unwilling to come do a home check! So I can’t really adopt through them. (Although there was a bun I was very interested in but again, too far away for a home check. =/ )

So I probably would just rescue one from somebody around here. (People keep wanting to start a breeding buisness and then get bored and ditch them)

I was actually just offered another angora, (who is older) but I doubt I’ll decide to adopt it because I’ve had so much going on and so much to do lately. But then again who knows.

The only reason we got Porky unneutered was b/c he wasn’t healthy enough to be neutered when he arrived at the shelter.  The shelters general rule is to neuter/spay before adopting.

Eepster— That’s how the shelters are here too.
