So I’m pretty sure Gamgee has anxiety, like serious anxiety. He is always chewing something, I mean ALWAYS…when he’s not it’s usually because he’s laying down sleeping. He’s always acting really nervous and runs away whenever my SO or I walks past him or even gets up. I don’t know how to describe it but he always seems like he’s on edge which seems like it would be super stressful for him.

I don’t know if this is related or not but sometimes he’ll pee right outside of his litterbox. He’ll hop up to the litterbox but NOT go into the litterbox and then turn his back *so it’s facing the litterbox* and then he pees. I just don’t have enough previous experience with bunnies to know what to do to help him.

          Does his vision seem okay?

His vision seems to be fine, I’ve taken him to the vet every 6 months and the vet doesn’t seem to think that there’s anything wrong. He finds his food fine, he can move between the levels of the cage fine, when we take them out to the living room we put out some cardboard in a maze-like fashion that’s always different and he goes right through the holes in the cardboard. Thank you for that suggestion though because that could’ve been a problem

Does anybody else have any ideas? Also I kinda looked up some things about blindness and am considering it as a possibility because some of the things are true about him but not others so next time I go to the vets I’ll bring it up. The reason why it’s so difficult is because he just doesn’t like to sit still and gets really nervous and starts to chew on his nails and he also starts to chew on hay and tries to bite the vet.

Well, the nervousness could be caused by impaired vision. I’m not sure if anyone else has any suggestions. I know there are some blind bunnies out there on BB, so perhaps someone can elaborate on behavior that have observed.
