My mini rex has the start of sore hocks.  He just has a small, pink sore area on one foot.  We recently moved him from a cage to an x-pen as his permanent housing, but he spends much of his time outside of the cage in the house.  I believe this move is causing the sore hocks.  We have linoleum so he doesn’t really have the softest area to run outside the cage.  Inside the cage, we use towels on the floor.  I want to catch this before it gets worse.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I just can’t see a good solution other than laying down floor rugs in my entire living room!  I’m just worried that the hard floor and lack of traction on the linoleum may be causing this.  Thanks!

My girl has sore hocks, which are constantly monitored ;( I wish I were more of help, as the apartment is carpeted. What I have on hand is a cream called HealX. You can get it on Amazon. It has antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effects I put a dab of it on a q-tip and dab the hock. It is safe if ingested and has helped so much! It is a life saver.

I have some blankets around the apartment and my bunny likes to lay around on them.
