I’ve had my bunny for about 5-6 months, and I’ve left town for 2 nights just once since I got her, and I had a friend stop in to feed and water her while I was gone.  I’m about to go camping for 2 nights with friends, and don’t know anyone else who could stop by to take care of her.  What would you do?  Not sure if it’s okay to just leave her a bunch of food and water, or if I really need to have someone stop by on Saturday.  I would feed, water, and exercise her Friday morning and then we’ll be back Sunday afternoon.  Let me know your opinion, thanks.

I would find someone to care for the bunny or not go camping. You need to be able to monitor your bunny’s eating and pooping to catch a problem before it’s too late.

I think its too long for a bunny to be left on its own. I think you should try really hard to find sb who can look in on your bun and check so she’s alright and contact you if there’s a problem. When bunnies have appetite/stomach problems, it’s a veterinary emergency after just 12-24 hours.

I would personally have opted out of the camping rather than leave my bunnies for three days.

Are your parents close enough that they could watch your bunny? Maybe a neighbor you trust could come in and look after her? Or you could try finding a local vet who is trained in exotics that also boards animals? I found out my vet does this, but I don’t know how popular it is.

Definitely have someone check on your bunny, once a day at the least. I’ve had bunnies get sick and die within hours. Someone needs to make sure bunny is eating, pooping and active.

Just so everyone knows, I didn’t leave her alone. I found a friend who was willing to watch her, but lived too far away to come by my house every day, so I brought my bunny to stay at her house for 3 days. Turned out, that kind of freaked my bunny out, and she was pretty mad at me for leaving her with a stranger. But, she was fine, and happy to be back at home now.
