So Fuji has been shaking her head like something is in her ear and holding the left ear down.  She has also been scratching at it as well.  I feel so bad! I scheduled an appointment for her tomorrow morning to get it looked at.  It’s just so weird though because she is only indoors or in my screened in patio.  I looked in her ear and I haven’t seen anything unusual.  =/ Support/advice would be nice.

          Hi!

Well, it’s really hard to see in a bunny’s ear canal! Its good that you made a vet appointment. The vet may look in the ear with a scope-device thing. You’re not alone in the ear issue, my bun has suffered some ear infections/head shaking. She is fine, and I am glad that you are proactive in making an appointment!

Thank you lovechacha! I agree with the person that said in the thread about what their SO’s say about rabbits: Rabbits are a hopping vet bill. Oh it’s so true! $50 for a check up! Oh well… I’m just hoping it’s nothing too serious.

She seems to be doing better this morning. I haven’t seen her itch at her ear or shake her head. I’ll still take her to the vet to make sure it really isn’t anything.

                Good luck at the vet!

Yup, that’s my husband that says that buns are hopping vet bills. In Bindi’s case it’s very true.

Well I just got back from the vet’s. Everything is fine, but her ear was a tiny bit dirty. The vet said pointed eared rabbits don’t have as big of an ear problem as lopped rabbits do. I really need to stop being so paranoid.

It’s true! The lop ears tend to be prone to infections. Koucha has acupuncture 3 years ago and hasn’t had an infection since

They are definitely worth the bill! hahah!

Rabbits can have acupuncture?? That’s news to me. Has anyone else had this done to their rabbits?

Yup! Only by a trained vet Koucha has a local vet (HRS recommended) that does modern vet medicine and alternative therapy.
Koucha sat very calmly as she got acupuncture done.

Glad all is well with the ears.
