So I want to get my 7 month old spayed bunny, Luna, a friend. I have my heart set on a French lop
and currently there are no neutered males available for adoption in my area. So my question is, can I just buy a male French lop from a breeder (I’m assuming he will be young, as most pet’s that come from breeders are sold as juveniles) and try to bond Luna and the lop when it’s still a baby? The reason being is because I have read that some rabbit’s just won’t get along no matter what and before I invest my time and money on a rabbit I want to know if the two will get along. I don’t want the baby lop to get hurt though so I want to know if it’s too risky.

Its not recommended to even try bonding until both are altered. You won’t really know how it will end up if you try now. They could bond now maybe … but then hate each other later, or they could not bond now and like each other once both are fixed. You just never know.

Your best bet for an easy bond is to let her pick her buddy….and rescues have so many bunnies that need a home.

Okay I guess I’ll just have to keep looking for a lop or maybe just give up on that and get any kind of bunny Luna definitely needs a friend
