So just this night, I noticed Fuji’s poops are a little darker and more moist than normal.  Until tonight, I’ve never seen her poop like this before.  I read that these poops might be caused by too much protein in their diet but thing is, her diet hasn’t changed.  Could there be something else wrong with her? She is eating fine and drinking well.

Edit to add:  Will this sort of thing go away on it’s own or do you think I will need to seek medical attention for this?

Has she gotten more greens than usual? Drank more water? Wetter food makes poop more wet. I see it in my bunnies sometimes.

She has probably been drinking more water. I mean it is summer and I’ve been letting her run around in my screened in patio in the mornings while I have breakfast. The poops are still solid, just a little bit moist. Ill keep an eye out for any sort of change in behavior (haven’t detected this yet) or any other changes for that matter.

Sometimes different types of hay make my buns’ poop darker, almost black. I wouldn’t worry unless they are really mushy and unshaped.

Yes, keep an eye on the poop and the appetite. (First rule of rabbit-ownership I sometimes think!) I see solid, well-formed but darker, bigger and somewhat more moist poop in my Yohio sometimes, in fact I did just recently. He gets lots of fresh leaves and grasses this time of year so that’s what I attributed it to. No signs of not feeling well etc.

We should’ve had summer here as well by now, but it is Sweden, some years summer just skips us by =/

I never understood why rabbit owners were so poop obsessed… now I get it lol! She had a couple of linked poops (hair) this morning. I found them right outside of her cage/litter box. Normally she is really good, even perfect at using the litter box but I’ve noticed she has been leaving a couple of strays here and there outside of her litter box. Do any of you have this problem as well?
