Bun Bun has this place in my kitchen (which is next to my living room) with a small cage that holds his litter box and hay with toys, water, a tunnel and a hidey house surrounding the cage and until now, he’s been using his litter box. Right behind the cage was a small dog bed for him but my aunt’s dog came over and laid in it and tried to get his scent all over it bc he doesn’t like Bun Bun and Bun Bun dislikes him also so I guess now he smells my aunt’s dog? Anyways, he started to poop and pee in it and I repeatedly have to wash it now and while it’s drying, Bun Bun pees on the carpet where the dog bed is. I really don’t want to put a litter tray there and just clutter the space so is there a way to stop him?

It can be very difficult to stop a bunny from peeing in a spot that he’s chosen. I think your best option is a litter box there or to block off the space until Bun Bun forgets about it. They do tend to forget about these things when their access to the preferred spot is blocked. Other than that you could try and put a small rag-rug over the spot on the carpet (after cleaning it thoroughly with vinegar and water), a rug that can be easily washed if Bun Bun should decide to keep peeing there. There are sprays with bitter-apple that are meant as deterrents, but I have no idea if they work.

It’s very likely that Bun Bun smellt the dog and then wanted to claim the spot for himself.
