I was just placing an order in the binky bunny store and I noticed that there is Oxbow Senior Support available. I’m wondering if this is important to be giving to Oliver? He’s about 10 and has regular digestive problems because he refuses to eat enough hay despite my best efforts. What exactly are those supplements supposed to do?

Would this help him? If so, is it something that needs to be introduced slowly like a new food?

        Thanks!

I think they make great treats – I’m not sure they truly do anything since there’s no proof they do anything. It does not need to be introduced slowly. Give it a go I say.

            Hi OliverBunny,

Dima, my older bunny that passed in December after quite a few health problems, used the Oxbow Senior Support tablets. I agree with Sarita that I’m not sure they truly “do” anything because there is no proof. However, as Sarita said, they do make great treats and after I consulted with Oxbow, they can also be soaked/mashed up to be fed if need be as well. I will say that they did help with Dima’s cognitive functions as the product claims. My vet believes in natural methods and ginkgo biloba was suggested for my bun’s seizures.

I didn’t expect the tablets to be a “magic bullet” but I pictured them as a healthy treat that couldn’t hurt. I used to tell Dima to come take his vitamin! He approved!

Excellent information. Thank you. Oliver likes to get a treat with dinner and I’m always looking for something healthier. I’ll try purchasing some.
