My bunny, Tulip, nips me so much it makes me not want to hold her and because of that she’s not getting the attention a bunny should.  I adopted her as a rescue about 4 months ago, and I imagined hanging out with her on my lap all the time, but she’s constantly nibbling on me, and it hurts.  She’s never broken the skin, so from what I read it’s affection, not aggression, but I don’t want her to do it.  It hurts and makes me nervous every time she sniffs at me.  When I hold her, I point her face away from me.  She climbs on the dogs and grooms them and they welcome it, but I don’t.  Will spaying her help?   I think she’s about 18 months old, she’s a rescue, about 7 lbs, and a mixed breed as far as I know.  How do I train her not to do this?

Spaying may help. Is it possible she’s nipping because she’s not enjoying being held?

It’s not necessarily when being held.  I could just be sitting on the ground, and she’ll come up and nip at my ankle…or arm…whatever.

            Thanks for your help.

Mine use to do that. Just tap her on the nose (lightly) and say no but keep doing it.
