Snowball, our rabbit, has been eating a LOT lately. She’s been eating everything she sees. She even ate an entire rose (just the petals). And she ate an entire yam. She’s even eating wilted leaves, grass, and dirt. I don’t even know why she’s eating so much. And before you say she’s pregnant, she GAVE BIRTH TO A LITTER OF SEVEN RABBITS RECENTLY. I’m scared that there is something wrong with her. Snowball hasn’t visited her mate’s house, Jack, recently. I’m pretty sure Jack and Snowball didn’t breed when Snowball was already pregnant. But I’m not sure. Does anyone know why she might be eating so much?

By the way, I’m not entirely sure she’s not pregnant. She might be carrying around some baby bunnies.

Don’t allow them together at all – rabbits can give birth immediately after birth – they are what is called forced ovulators.

It is possible if she is still nursing the babies, then she is eating more to compensate for that.

Nursing takes more calories than pregnancy.

Yes, she needs calories to produce milk. Are you giving her unlimited pellets and hay?

Hm…. yes, I just found out, before this topic was approved, that Snowball was eating to nurse her kits. I’m aware that rabbits give birth after birth. My dad doesn’t seem to want to spay her (apparently it’s expensive). I never get to actually see Snowball nurse her kits, because I’m at school at the time. Thank you very much for your answers.
