        Hey everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone used cedar play house as a outdoor house for their bunnies before? I’ve read that cedar shavings are bad due to phenols but I’m wondering if a playhouse made of cedar wood is the same? I saw this (see attached photo) in our local classified – it is advertised as “cedar house”. Does anyone know if cedar playhouse is toxic/harmful to bunnies if they chew it or spend few hours a day in it?

Usually I wouldn’t recommend solid cedar wood (although solid pine is ok) either because they might chew it or it could let off fumes, but I think with a “playhouse” sized house it would probably be fine for a few hours with supervision. It looks stained, though, so that may be an issue. I think if you do decide to get it, you should keep them from chewing it at all costs. I hope some others post their opinions, as I am not quite sure.

Yeah if you are into arts and crafts, go for it, because if something breaks its your creation, you know how to fix it.
