        Hi!
We have a 2 year old male And we just rescued a 3 week old female. We tried bonding and it went very well until my male tried humping her…that’s a big no no, we stopped him before he could crush her. The 3 week old one is tiny! He is neutered.
Is there anything we can do or just wait until she grows up before having any hopes for them sharing a cage?

I would not put a baby that young with an adult even if he is neutered….you are best to wait until she is grown up and spayed.

So should we wait at least until she is spayed? Or longer maybe? she really Is fond of him when we have controlled meetings, so it’s a Shame that we have to keep them separate.

Wow, 3 weeks is really young to be taken from her mom; do you know why she was removed so soon?

You don’t want to keep a baby with a full grown rabbit because it’s not safe. The girl is going to eventually drive your boy nuts with her energy and hormones. Even if you feel they are “bonding” they really aren’t because she hasn’t reached maturity and her hormones are going to be raging. You could end up hurting a potential future bond by trying to bond them now. I would keep them separate until she is old enough to be spayed and then wait a month after for her to heal and get her hormones settled.

I’m glad they seem to to enjoy each other’s company! I think it might be okay to keep them housed near each other if they can’t get to each other. Definitely no alone time though. Good luck!

                Thank you for replying!
I’ll keep them separate until then only supervised playtimes will be allowed.

I have no idea why was she removed so early, we just got her like that and knew that she as too young to be without her mom. That’s mostly the reason we took her in.
