I have seen pictures of rabbits in pens with carpet, Olly is very clean and I was wondering if I was to put carpet in his cage and his litter tray and screw him some newspaper up if that would be OK, he does not rip up carpet that is on the floor in my room.

I don’t see why you couldn’t use carpet. Our condo is in the living room and we put down a cheap carpet under their condo just in case so they dont ruin ours. Our don’t chew or dig so it hasn’t been an issue.

I’ll give it a week and see if I can get a cheap fluff free one, maybe some rug from the shop would do for Olly, a thin one.

That all we have. A think $10 rug from Menards (or like Lowes, Home Depot). It was on clearance. I think it’s soft enough since it’s on carpeting.

Cool I’ll have a look here, I’ve never heard of Mernards I’m in the UK, I’m sure its good, Olly throws sawdust out of his cage when I’m asleep so I think he needs carpet.

What is the bottom of his cage made of?

Are you keeping sawdust on the bottom of his cage? You really don’t need to–rabbits don’t need any kind of bedding except for litter in their box. The plastic shouldn’t be too hard on your buns feet, but you could put down some fleece blankets and see how that goes before you buy carpet.

He got half carpet and half newspaper now and if I put his box on the carpet, he runs in pushes the box off and lays down on the carpet, iz new bunnyz bed!

If he isn’t tearing up or chewing the piece of carpet that’s in there now, you should be fine. We use fleece because we have diggers and chewers — I wish my bunnies were as well behaved as LLH’s bunnies!
