Like it was wet at one point, but not anymore. Can’t really touch it, either because it hurts her or maybe rabbits just don’t like when you touch them there. Eats fine, moves around fine, etc. Only that one spot is like that. Not wet around mouth, so probably not dental.

What is it and what can be done? I’m wary of bringing her to a vet in my town because here vets are simply not familiar with rabbits… But I will bring her if necessary.

It could be dried vegetable juice from when she eats her salads. Is she a messy eater?

She isn’t. Looks like older, semi-dry pus still keeping the fur glued together, but I can’t possibly imagine how she could have injured herself, which is why I don’t jump to that conclusion.

She won’t let you touch it? Are you sure there isn’t a scab under there?

I’m not sure but I didn’t feel any scabs. I did touch it for a few seconds once. Felt like regular skin under the patch.

I found another post… It’s like this, except the wet fur is also yellow. https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/112440/Default.aspx
I will get an antibacterial cream from the vet today.

                        Help!

So a vet saw her a month ago (on the 8th). He cut the yellowish/brown fur and saw the skin under it was normal. Looked inside to check her teeth superficially as well and didn’t see anything wrong with them either.

Yet, the wet yellowish/brown patch grows bigger and bigger under his chin. Very noticable now. Could it just be her being a little bit fat?

Still eats fine and is active.

What popped into my mind is an overactive gland on her chin. The one they use to mark things. I read somewhere that a waxy sort of sticky spot can form. Maybe it’s rubbing on her dewlap and causing it? especially if there is no sign of a skin problem, or previous cut. If this is the case, taking a wet wash cloth to the chin everyday would help. Also if she isn’t spayed, then the whole thing could be caused by a hormone imbalance, and could be solved by spaying her! I hope you find the culprit soon!
