As you may remember, we’ve been wanting to get a friend for Puck for some time. Initially we got Theo, a french lop who should perhaps have been named General Woundwort. After many attempts to figure out what was causing him to be so aggressive, visits to the vet and many many many conversations with the breeder, it was decided that he was way beyond our ability to handle, and the breeder suggested we brought him back to her. It was a difficult decision and I felt like I was giving up on him, but I know that it’s the best thing for him; by the end of it we couldn’t even let him out to play without risking life and limb

The breeder offered to let us have another kit when the litter was mature enough to leave mum, but in the meantime, we discovered an adoption charity and met (and fell head-over-heels for) this handsome little fella:

His name is Harry. There’s not a whole lot we can be sure of (age, breed etc) because he was simply abandoned (rather than surrendered properly ) but they thought that he had just reached maturity by the time he was out of quarantine since he suddenly took to spraying… everywhere. There had been a lot of interest in him because he’s got a very sweet personality (and frankly, look at him, he’s gorgeous) but people were put off by the constant spraying. Which is silly because he’s been neutered all of about two weeks, and he’s stopped spraying! And actually, that took less than a week.

There will be more pictures to follow, but it’s hard to get him to stay still long enough!

Oh my goodness he looks like such a sweetheart!!

I hate how people will just abandon their pets, but at least this little guy has a happy ending. He looks cuddly in the picture, is he a cuddly bun in real life?

Aww, what a beautiful bunny. So sorry to hear about Theo though. =( I’m glad your breeder agreed to take him back.

Harry is beautiful! And he looks so sweet and cuddly.

Too bad about Theo, I’m glad the breeder took him back.

I was really broken up about giving Theo up, but it was reaching the point where we couldn’t care for him properly and I was seriously concerned about him causing damage to himself from the way he’d throw himself headfirst into the sides of the cage trying to get us :/ At least with Alison I know he’s with someone who has had experience dealing with aggressive rabbits (that she’s taken in, not that she’s bred) – but even she said there was something very not right with him :/

Harry’s very cuddly when it comes to sitting next to you or putting his head on your lap. He sometimes lets you sit him in your lap, but only after an extended period of none of that nonsense, thank you lol He’s definitely a mummy’s boy, but he’s happy to play with Morse too, so we’re feeling a little more confident that we’re not going to end up with General Woundwort mark 2 (Theo very quickly attached to me, but was indifferent towards Morse, then became aggressive towards him, then declared war on everyone. We were a little twitchy at first when Harry seemed to be following the same pattern, but he decided that Morse is actually an acceptable substitute when I’m not around lol)
