        Hi everyone!

I’ve had my bunny for about 5 months and never had any problem with him stinking up. However, aftering getting him neutered last Sunday, I’ve started to notice him stinking up. I’ve searched all over the internet to find out why but all of the information I’ve found indicates that the stinking is supposed to get better after neutering, not worst. I’m really confused as to why he’s starting to stink now.  Has anyone ever had the same thing happen to their bunnies after being neutered. I’m kindda worry that this will be a reccuring thing and I’m not excactly loving the smell. Does anyone knows why this is happening?

Don’t panic, you have not been mislead. He will get less stinky. Immdiately after neuter the hormones go a little hay wire and his behavior might be super hormonal for a few weeks. It takes about a month for the hormones to completely settle and for any residual sperm to be gone (so if you have an intact girl bunny keep them apart till the end of May). I learned this lesson the hard way. Keep an eye on his sutures to make sure they are clean and not infected and check his butt to make sure he isn’t poopy after the surgery.
