Today while I was getting my bunny some new hay,

I noticed that there was a huge lump of fecal matter in his cage that he was eating…

I know they were the ones he’s supposed to eat, but then I checked his butt and he had a poopy bottom.

He isnt neutered yet and some of the poop is stuck on his testicles…. Im trying to wipe it away with warm water the best I can, but I need to know how serious this actually is?

Hes going to the vet by the end of this week for a check up and grooming, but I dont know if it can wait!

        Any feedback would be amazing.

        Also,

He isnt showing any signs of being sick either… is his diet too rich?

You can do a butt-bath to get rid of the poop. It’s often easier on the bun than wiping, it irritates the skin less esp if the poop is really stuck.

One instance of poopy-butt is not sth that”s crazy serious or alarming, if he’s eating and drinking, moving about etc normally. It can be caused by a slight change in diet like if he’s eaten more than he normally does or less hay or well, any number of reasons, and it may very well resolve on its own, esp with extra hay. Try to get him to eat a lot of hay and check him daily for poopy butt.
