Hello I have an about 9 years old holland american mixed fuzzy lop with brown marbling and super floppy ears. Some background info before I get into it is he is about nine. He developed his (AHEM) about a year after i got him and did neuter him so he is about 8+ years neutered. He also has cancer. Not sure as I don’t have that much money to keep testing him but we removed a big tumor and a small tumor and he is recovering. He has an eye infection that the had in the last few years. (Its not an abccess) When he had X-rays for the the access possible tumor we saw his teeth are healthy. Ok so I needed to tell you all that because, well, he is old. He is so sweet. He is my first and will be last rabbit. But I hope he has a few more years with me now recently he has been using his water feeder to douse his forehead. I don’t know if its for attention or what?! I know I haven’t spent AS much time as I have post op care which has cause me to be with him minimum 2 hours a day. I don’t want him to get sick. Im also married, a caregiver, work and in college PT about to go have a summer class and then FT. I can be with him to coddle when he needs me. He has a pen we put together that take about a 1/4 of the room up and with lots of fresh food and water and frequent visits by me and sometimes 15 minutes to 30 minute pettings. I want to spend more time and he def. would want me to but I can’t. I end up petting him longer because we are so bonded. He isn’t in need of an emergency or anything. My question which may have gotten lost in all that (had to edit a lot out) is about his behavior-He puts his forehead in from of the wearer bottle to soak his forehead and i want to find it amusing for his efforts to get my attention.. The more I think about it the more it does seem its attention getting more than anything but its unusual. Because its unusual it has to be cause he is older so he is trying different things I’m thinking. He knows what works with me very well. He knows I’m on his eye weeping like bees on ice-cream so after a few years of it I’m wondering if he got a light bulb to think well ok well I’m going to soak my forehead because she will have to dry it up for me. He is my besets bud ever and will have to get pictures.

I love my rabbit so much a big part of me will die inside the day God ever makes him cross the bridge(Lord knows I won’t do that unless he is in pain and is suffering ….but he isn’t and I am very grateful)

It’s very possible it is not intentional at all – he may not realize he is doing it.
