Is there any need to add oxbow supplements or anything else to the rabbits standard diet? They will be getting unlimited hay, Organic Spring mix( once old enough) , and age appropriate Oxbow rabbit food.

There really isn’t a need. There really isn’t any proof that these do any good but some of us give them to our bunnies as “treats” and because they can’t really hurt!

I thought that might be the case but I wanted to be sure.

Ditto, JackRabbit. I give the joint ones quite often, mostly as a treat. My buns love them. They are both 8 years old and show no symptoms of arthritis but have no way to know if the supplements help or not. An expensive but healthy treat, at the least.

When my rabbit started getting crippled in his back legs, due to arthritis, I gave him the Oxbow Joint supplements. I have no idea if they did any good, although they do contain ingredients that are anti-inflammatory that I’ve seen mentioned for people to take. In any case, he liked the taste of them.
