Hi everyone- I have a question about nipping & biting.

since day 1, Olive has been nipping. I was bitten (there’s a scar on my middle finger )on the first day. Oh and his current favorite game during floor time is “Jump onto mommy’s bed, nibble everything in sight, then get kicked off the bed 1000 times!!”. My clothes, skin, feet, everything, he nips and nibbles, and plays tug of war with me. and of course sometimes those nips become bites and one of us ends up in time out and the other has to wear band aids for the rest of the week.

I’ve tried telling him “no”, yelping in a high pitch, spraying a little water, wearing a glove and letting him chew it (I now officially only have one functioning garden glove). Is there anything I can do to keep him from biting/nipping me & my clothes & belongings, and THE BARS OF HIS EX PEN? Sorry to throw this extra question out there but he won’t stop rattling his pen at night and I can’t sleep!

LBJ10: He’s 4 months old and was neutered a couple weeks ago. I think the testosterone has not left his body just yet

It can take 4 to 6 weeks for things to normalize after they are neutered. Honestly, I would give him some time. If it is hormone-driven, then this could start resolving itself shortly. If not, then we can work on finding a solution.

My male Fred was neutered a couple weeks ago as well…. today is the very first day he hasn’t peed on me at least a little. I wish he was only nibbling and nipping, lol! Try to give him some time and see if the behavior changes over the next few weeks… today has been the first real noticeable behavior change for us. I’m hopeful I’ll continue to see a really slow progression in the right direction – hope you will see the same. Pesky Bunny Hormones !

I will wait a few more weeks and go from there (and probably sleep in a different room for a few days). And Toni, I hope your bun stops peeing on you!! That can get pretty stinky, lol. Thanks everyone!!
