As a bunny rescue person I am frequently offered small hutches and other stuff meant for bunnies that is actually innappropriate. I always say yes and take it for two reasons. 1. It keeps small hutches and dangerous items out of the hands of the uneducated. 2. You never know what you can do with something till you try.

Case in point. I have been given two standard flat pack hutches which frankly wouldn’t be suitable as accommodation for any animal other than over night emergency. Now, I have storge problems, 9 of those problems are able to access anything I use to store goodies. Problem solved, if a bunny can’t get out of it then they can’t get in. Bunny Proof Storage. Turn the hutch so it faces the wall and only the timber is visible. Use the hutch to store hay, pellets, treats, blankets, cleaning supplies etc. Add a pice of custom cut foam rubber to the top and cover with pretty fabric. Storage and seating !!! For you and the buns. Two story, no problem, add a flat panel to the top to use as a work bench. IsoIate the top floor for storage and cut access holes in the sides of the ground floor for nap access. Shabby chic the weathered ones with a non toxic paint wash and use a floral print for the seat. You can also block off the open grilled areas with ply but then you don’t get the air through if you are storing blankets in there.

Will post some pics when I am done.

Can get rid of the ugly galvanised shelving unit now. ?
