hi all I am very happy I found this site I think it’s amazing.

I have had rabbits for couple of years now. 2 2year olds a lop named Emerline and dwarf called Frank, who decided to surprise me one morning by having two little bunnies waiting for me girl baby Princess and my boy Paddy.

They all live together in one big house with half the garden fenced off so they can run free for as many hours as possible (when I’m home of course)

They are very close, I’ve never had any issues with aggression from any of them, I’ve never even been bitten.

So! I went to a rescue centre on sat and saw these two little 12 week old sisters. Well I couldn’t just leave them there so I adopted them there and then
They are so friendly and love being held ect. They are polly and pandora

At the moment I have them in a indoor cage in my lounge.

Today they had there first look at the other four, I put their cage in the rabbit pen to let them all meet and see each other for the first time, while the other four buns were loose in their area (new buns still in their cage).

All 6 rabbits seemed to get along ok, there was no issues today. First bonded session done!

What I’d like to know is has anyone on her had to bond so many rabbits? Or bond a family unit to outsider buns?

Would the two new ones be better only bonding with one of the family one at a time.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing any tips.

        K

          Hi Kerrie–welcome to BB!

Are you four original buns fixed? Are the two new girls spayed? I’m guessing not since they are so young. My best advice is to first get everybun spayed and neutered and give them all at least 6 weeks for hormones to die down before you continue with any bonding sessions. You don’t want to worry about accidental litters and you will likely see territorial and aggression issues as the buns go through puberty.

Again, welcome! Glad you found us!

Welcome, and ditto to everything Little Lion Head said!

As far as bonding big groups, we do have a few with experience. I think Tanlover14 was up to 7 or 8 but split them into two groups I think so that the ones that were better behaved litterbox-wise could have more free roam time.
