        Hi All,

        I have a 10 month old mini-lop named Bruno.

I’ve been noticing a few things in the last couple of weeks and I’m not sure if I should be worried! The biggest change in behaviour is I haven’t seen him eat his cecotropes for a few weeks now, whereas I used to see this quite often. His poos also are definitely more moist than normal, his normal poos having visible hay in them. In terms of size and quantity everything seems to be the same.

In terms of diet I feed him principally hay, with a bowl of vegetables for breakfast and dinner. At bed time he gets 4 pellets. Nearly everyday I take him outside and let him play in the garden for about two hours. We live in Australia so we are currently coming into winter and he is molting. In terms of appetite he appears to be eating more hay than usual and he seems to be taking longer to consume his vegetables. In terms of behavior he is as sociable and active as normal, though today he appeared to be more lethargic, spending a lot more time flopped. I have been grooming him every day.

I’m not sure if I should be worried. Bruno is my first rabbit and every change is new to me! I get a bit paranoid because I read a lot about how rabbits hide when they are unwell. Any help would be much appreciated!

        Thanks,

        Janice

When you say you haven’t seen him eat the cecotrophs, do you mean that he is leaving them on the floor, or that he doesn’t appear to be eating them “from the source”?

What types of vegetation does he have access to while outside?

Both although i did see him leave some in his litterbox today and also eat some from the source.

Grass mainly and there are some rose bushes and other weeds… not sure of all the names of them.
