I’ve had my bonded bunnies for about five months now and I’ve noticed some clumps of hair around their home. When I inspected, Calla has an area with no fur on her hind leg. The bunnies are sisters and have been spayed for years now (they’re five) but I can’t figure out if its Calla herself or her sister Aster ripping the fur out. I asked the bunny shelter where I got them and where I get their supplies and they said it could be over-grooming, but didn’t give any solutions to solve it. But if it’s Aster ripping out the fur then what do I do?

Could be a dominance fight between the two bunnies. It could also be nervousness or boredom on Callas part.
You need to find out how it is happening. If it is Calla then stress reduction might be necessarily. If it is sister try putting them some place they have never been and wit) not have territory issues.
          Hopes this helps

Is the area of no fur also completely bald underneath or is there short velvety fur there? That spot looks exactly like my black bunny’s fur when he was shedding. The fur ready to fall out would look grayish at the roots like your photo. He might just be normal shedding (unless its her bare skin is showing). Does Aster have the habit of humping Calla? My little girl who was spayed still humps my other bunny at times. When she does this she gets feisty and bites fur in the process.

It is her skin showing, she doesn’t like her leg to be extended so the picture was hard to take. They never hump each other so I don’t think it’s a dominance issue.
