My current rabbit, a 1 year old Holland lop, lives in my bedroom, he roams freely during the day, and is put in his condo at night (he could totally leave my room during the day, but he hates the hardwood). The other rabbit is a rescued baby at 8 weeks old I presume the baby is a girl, but haven’t gone to a vet to confirm.

The issue is space, the only place I can put the new rabbit is in another condo in my bedroom. Currently the baby is in a pen in the kitchen, and blocking off access to lots of stuff. I stupidly tried to bond them so that I could hopefully have the baby in my room no problem. But after looking into I see that it is best to wait until the other rabbit is fixed.

What I was thinking of doing is putting the condo and the baby in my room (like planned) but pinning off an area around the condo so that I can prevent any bad relation happening before I can properly bond them. I’m worried my current boy is going to get territorial and that future bonding won’t turn out so great.

I really don’t have anywhere else to put the baby. The kitchen can get a bit loud and I don’t want to terribly frighten the little baby! If anyone could offer advie please!

        I’m at my wit’s end

I actually am in the same boat as you right now! I have a 2 year old spayed female and i just got a 8 week old male on Saturday. She has a 3 story condo and he is in a big dog cage, on TOP of a coffee table! She has free roam of the room, but cannot reach up to the cage to bite or really touch the male. I give them turns having free roam of the room, so none of them feel like it is their territory. I would try to give more attention to your 1 year old rabbit, he will like that you are doing that and he will not feel like you are neglecting him just because there is a new bun in the house.

You can only give it a go and see how things turn out. I currently have buns in both spare bedrooms and the lounge. I have had to defer bonding the two boys in the lounge as one has tummy issues and the other has a sore foot.
