Do you think it is safe to leave them like this all night? Not on aggressive move from either, except Hermans thumping……….????

I would separate them if you’re not there to at least over hear them. Some bunnies can fight through the cage.

I just walled off my new bunnies’ cage so my free run bunny couldn’t get too close until they became used to each other’s smell. (A few days)

Also. When they’re stomping their back foot they’re indicating anger or fear. It’s probably not good for Herman to be constantly feeling that aggravated.

Well, he is super excited whenever Velvet comes around. Velvet on the other hand is spending her time upstairs now, instead of her room in the basement. Haven’t noticed any aggression at all though. thanks.

So, Friday will be 2 weeks since Herman was neutered. They sit together all day like OP pic, Herman licking Velvets forehead. Thinking after weekend letting him out upstairs, and Velvet loose up there too. Pretty much Neutral. My question. About Herman’s litter box?

I’d really like if they used ONE, but not sure how to go about it. Herman’s cage is as clean as it could be now, not one pill inside on carpeted floor. Should I use the same corner box for him, away from Velvets for awhile, then gradually mix some of his with hers? They are both fixed. Thanks in advance!

How long did you vet say to let him rest after being neutered? I thought it was a month, but I could be wrong as I’m looking at getting my girl done and that’s a more invasive surgery. I definitely wouldn’t put them together until he’s completely healed.

I don’t have a lot of experience getting rabbits to use littler boxes together. I find mine naturally started using the “communal” one, but my little buns still have one in their cage and my girl still has her own in her space as well. If you’re taking him into a new space, bring his litter box so that the smell will tell him where he’s supposed to go. That said, bunnies tend to decide on their own where they want to relieve themselves and you often have to accommodate or constantly clean up accidents.

Try two at first and hopefully you’ll be able to get it down to one if they both seem to prefer one over the other.

                Hope that helps!

I let Herman out of his cage 15 days after neutered, he immediatly started humping Velvets head, back to the cage for 2 more weeks, we’ll try again. Velvet is now pooping all around Herman’s cage and urinating too. After he is out of cage, I think she will get Litter training 101 for a while in the cage.

Thought I’d chime in to say, the two that recently bonded here at my house without my doing it, he constantly humped her head, side, back, anything he could reach. He loves her. And he had been neutered for 6 months.

Thanks, so, after 6 months he still did that?

I let Herman out most of the day. He hasn’t mounted Velvet, but, then, she won’t exactly let him either, moves away. No fighting though. I think they will be just fine. Locking him up at night for a few more days though, just in case!

Yea, humping isn’t only sexual, it’s a dominance thing too. He’s probably trying to establish being top rabbit. Which to me, sounds oike she’s perfectly happy letting him have that position.

While he is in cage, she pooped and peed all around it like marking her space, but when both are loose she goes in the cage drinks his water. Even sat in his litterbox for a while. No violence at all, but, she moves away when he comes to talk. Both let out light grunts, kinda funny to listen to. lol

I locked him up again for the night and she sits 2 inches away from him all the time, so, I think they are in love. She’s a very shy bunny around people too!

Herman’s a free man now, still follows Velvet everywher, but not the Humping. Thry were both laying side by side today, let the love begin!

                                Yay! Congrats on their success.

My little guy has started humping and he was neutered for a year before I got him. He’s definitely trying to establish his role as top bun over the rest of them. It’s pretty funny because he’s SO tiny.

I’m so pleased Herman and Velvet are getting along so well!

Still sniff from behind a bit, but the will kick out their heels side by side, and he will lick her face and eyes all day long.

                                   Only one huge litterbox too!
