I adopted my six year old lop in July 2013. She’s always been pretty curious and a bit of a jumper, but last weekend I found her outside of her 3 foot x-pen with the door closed. Since then she’s hopped over the pen three or four different days. It’s peculiar to me because she’s never jumped over the pen before (and I didn’t know she could). Whenever she escapes she creates quite a destructive mess. Does anyone have any insight or advice how to deal with this? I thought I’d been safe with a 3 ft high pen. It’s interesting to note she never tries to jump when she knows I’m around to catch her.

You could try putting a sheet over the top of the pen to see if that deters her – otherwise you will need a higher pen height.

You could do a few things,
            1) Buy a taller x-pen
            2) Clip a sheet over the top to see if that deters her
            3) Make a NIC cube cube cover/screen
Other than that I don’t really have advice…
            Good luck!

I do understand. I recently discovered I have an athlete bunny too. She can clear a 3 ft pen as well. They do make tops for xpens which will let more light in. They have mesh cloth ones now (google mesh top for xpen). As MM suggested, you can also buy a higher xpen. (though I know they are pricey, but if you may be able to find a deal on craigslist.
