My bunny, March always gets several hours out of her bunny home to spend time with me. We usually hang out on the couch on in my room  or she sleeps on my lap while I watch things on my laptop. Today I decided to get her bunk mate, Treasure, out to play with us on the couch  as well. March wasn’t happy, she thumped her foot and growled and wouldn’t let Treasure anywhere near me. I never knew bunnies could be this possessive about their humans. (Treasure doesn’t belong to me, she belongs to my roommate so I don’t play with Treasure much) They’ve bonded and have never had any problems but for some reason March doesn’t want to share human time with her. I don’t know if I should be concerned or flattered lol has this happened to anyone else?

This has happened to me. Jack wouldn’t growl, he’d just hip the other bunny, that I was petting in the bum, or stick his nose under there head to push them away. And if that didn’t work, he’d hump the other bunny. (nice!). Anyway, it never got aggressive thank goodness. If there are bonded, maybe what you can do is while they are together make a habit of petting both at the same time. I know as long as I petting Jack, he was okay with the other being pet. Just couldn’t be the other one only.

Marlee gets like that if I’m petting Moshi. She’s fine if I’m petting both, but if I’m petting him when she hops over and don’t immediately put a hand on her, she’ll either bite Moshi’s butt or go sit in the litterbox for the rest of playtime and pout (if I try talking to her she will look the other way!).

Casper and Marilyn Bunroe compete for attention all the time. If I’m petting one, the other will run up and demand to also be pet. I’m pretty good about being fair. Sometimes When petting Marilyn, I’ll wait for Casper (Alpha bunny) to get jealous before also including him. I cant resist that adorable jealous glare he gives. If I’m petting Casper, Marilyn will start licking me to get my attention then stop and stick her head under my hand when she thinks its her turn to be groomed.
