So I saw my netherland dwarf chewing something that could’ve been a piece of hay or a twist tie, I’m honestly not sure which. I do have some stray pieces of hay lying around my floor but it’s possible I could’ve dropped a twist tie too…are they able to chew up the metal wire?

I’m guessing there’s nothing I can do right now except keep an eye on her..

The things bunnies manage to eat, ((sigh)). Twist ties are normally nontoxic, so no worry about that. The main concern would be obstruction, so make sure eating and pooping continue at a normal pace.

Would it have been a plastic coated or paper coated twist tie? Either would cause a problem if fully ingested, but I’d be less concerned over the paper being chewed off rather than plastic.

Keep an eye on your bunny, if you notice anything that could indicate GI problems (not eating, not pooping, uncomfortable positioning) seek vet care.

I’d be concerned about the metal poking their inside bits, myself. Just keep an eye on your bun and make sure she keeps eating and drinking normally
