I have had them probably 5 months now.  Buffy (jersey wooly female) and Shadow (mini rex) – both fixed.  Buffy has always been like never wanted to be even touched, let alone held.  I can touch her now and once I picked her up, the other night I caught her to try and brush her.

I prefer not to catch them in the cage, if they are out, it’s near impossible!  Shadow is fine being held if you get him out of his cage.  I tried not to force things, esp with Buffy.  Should I just force her?  I see all these pics of people and bunnies on the couch or whatever.  Not mine!

Oh I’m so sorry. I have to wonder, first, if they are attached to each other so they don’t feel the need to have a third wheel. We really have to take pleasure from being their slaves but I understand how unrewarding your situation is. Many buns don’t like to be held. Some prefer the spouses over the actual parent. It’s different for everyone and I really think that’s a nice thing about this forum…sharing your bunny stories and frustrations with others. It somehow helps me enjoy mine more, anyway. I don’t know if you can let them run around. Stretch out on the floor and let them use you for a stepping stone. Always bribe with treats. Just find something to do, like read or talk on the phone or Internet…whatever you can do near them and let them come to you. I would get bored not having anything to do during this time, personally. Certainly you can try to force the one bunny, but if she just is one who doesn’t want to be held, you’ll likely need to try to accept that. I’m pretty surprised it’s the J. Woolen being like that.

Patrick hate to be picked up, its a fight everytime, even if it benefits him…. He’s newly neutered so i’m still trying to figure him out. Here is a video which may help you, this lady seems to be good and i’ve tried some of her techniques.

Give it a try, it may help

No, don’t force and don’t put your feelings on your rabbits either.

Honestly people are going to post pictures only of their rabbits doing cute things and such so don’t take too much stock in those photos. Also really 5 months is not long at all – be patient and give it more time and enjoy your rabbits for what they are and not what you want them to be :~)

I adore them still!  They come out to play and buffy jumps on the couch and I touch her/pet a little.  I don’t want to scare her from coming near me.

They do love each other too and I’m glad about that.  Buffy sheds a lot so I’d like to brush her some.

There was a rabbit at the shelter that everyone thought wasn’t adoptable. I didn’t chase her, but I did reach over when she was in a corner and picked her up and she actually stayed in my arms a few minutes and let me brush her there. Folks were surprised she would allow that. But the other bunny was def. not happy to be picked up, so I promised him I wouldn’t do it to him, though I had a feeling he’d make a really super pet anyway because he would sit for pets and lettuce. Sounds like you are loving them for who they are and they’re lucky to have you as their slave ha ha Time will be your friend and we will want to see your pictures of success some day. Now I have to go check out that site that Patrick suggested

I’m going to check that out too!  I think Buffy comes up on the couch just to antagonize me, lol!  I need to upload some pics!  I get lazy

No problem, anything helps trying to figure out these critters, I think I understand women more (Joke implied)

The ladies videos have helped me alot and the thing is, each bun is different, so when I get a new bun,it seems like a new slate and I need to start all over again.
