We will be having VERY COLD TEMPS day & night.

Linus is indoors (of course) We have old drafty windows and the thermostat is set at 65. My wife & I have been thinking we should bring  him upstairs at night. Is this something we should do or will he be good downstairs.

i think he’ll be fine. does he have an enclosed place to curl up in?

even if he doesn’t –just from experience all the buns i have known enjoy a good sprawl on a cold tile floor even when there are warmer options available

Indoor temps of 65 degrees are fine for bunnies. Make sure he has his choice of a warm cozy spot away from drafts to snuggle in and a cool spot to stretch out as well as plenty of fresh hay and water. However, if it would make you rest easier, then you can always take him upstairs with you at night.

Plenty of bunnies spend all winter in unheated hutches. If your house isn’t so cold and drafty that you are worried you and your family will get hypothermia, then its more than warm enough for your bunny. They have think warm fur, you don’t.

On the flip side, you bunny needs the AC in the summer more than you do.

If there is a drafty window right near your bunny, can you either cover that side of the cage with a blanket or sheet to cut the drafts, or better yet attach some of that window plastic to better insulate the area?

Oh totally that temp is fine. In fact over 75 is difficult for them. (Or thereabouts, we use Celsius here and I’m not good in Fahrenheit)

But the draft isn’t good. Some people here use like a plastic wrap thing to seal their windows-it supposedly saves you lots in lost heat. IS that a possibility for you? Or maybe you can just duct tape and towels?
