  LOL, aww poor Bruno. Hope you don’t enter him into one of those dog grooming competitions. Do they have those for bunnies? Can you imagine bunnies sculpted to look like roller derby girls? Yes, this was on TV a few weeks ago. Dogs, not bunnies.
  
  Speaking of the evolution of bunnies. I was reading about DNA sequencing that was done and they are putting lagomorphs further away from rodents (branched off much earlier than once thought). They said rabbits are significantly more closely related to primates and tree shrews than rodents, so they are challenging the superorder Glires (Rodents + Lagomorphs). Alright, I’ll shut up now. LOL

  BM I love it! You have to either find or make a Halloween costume for Bruno! And Bindi can get little side horns, too! It would be perfect!
  
  LBJ – I actually have read a bit on that, too. There was a study between gene structure of humans, mice and rabbits that found the human was more closely related to both mice and rabbits individually than mice and rabbits are to each other! If there are any biology wizards out there interested in a very scientific paper, here’s a link:

  CT – The study I’m thinking of looked at mitochondrial DNA, but the one you linked too is interesting as well. This is something that has been examined from several different angles and they are finding similar things, so that is promising.

  Mice are genetically very like people, that’s why they use mice for experiments.
  
  Bruno’s mama, I’m in total awe of the Bantha. My brother often dog-sits a Briard dog that looks exactly like Chewbacca. Too bad I don’t have any pics here. The likeness is frightening.
  
  Edit next day: I found a pic of her, not in Chewbacca-mode though, but still, I’m sure you can imagine =) Her name is Prillan btw.

  LPT- I’m sure that’s the kind of parents my husband and I would be too lol. The other night we planned out a whole presidential campaign that will go on between our animals. Oy. :p
