Oh Kraken! So I live in a dorm with my bunny. There are 4 of us that share a suite style dorm each with our own bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The bathroom is kind of an industrial bathroom with two sinks a bathroom stall, urinal and shower stall. It’s fairly decent sized. Kraken is loose to go in all the common spaces and my bedroom when I’m home and gets put in his x-pen at night or when I’m in class. He has never had the desire to go into the bathroom because it was tiled. Lately he has gotten very bold and naughty and decides to explore the bathroom regularly. The first time was when I was peeing and he came in ducked under the stall and begged for treats . Silly bunny. Anyway the main door is super heavy so we leave it propped open and I don’t think it would be probable to shut it regularly. The bathroom gets a deep clean once a week so one of the things I’m worried about is the cleaning solution on his feet. Also not everyone is comfortable having a rabbit watch them pee (imagine that!) so I would love to hear your stories and advice.

        Naughty bunny!!

The first thing that pops into my head is doorway gate like this:

Like a baby gate but people don’t have to step over it.

I think that once the cleaning solution dries, I wouldn’t worry about that part.
We once moved into a house that didn’t have blinds because it was so far out in the country. But hubby couldn’t deal with looking out the bathroom window and seeing deer facing the house, so up went the blinds.
That’s a great contraption MD has pictured.
Kraken sounds like such a clown!!

I know this isn’t a solution but . . . Getting used to going to the bathroom with a bunny watching may be good practice. If any of you ever have children you’ll understand! There’s something about mom being in the bathroom that makes children needy — need hugs, need answers to questions, need to know where something is, need to “go”, need to know what mom is doing, etc.!

Sorry JR. Nope no way. Kids could wait outside the door! Pets maybe. No humans ha ha

That was a long time ago. I can’t remember but not so sure

You need to go stay at LBJ’s house and experience the “open basement” toilet!

Kmurphy – it could be worse. When our dog was alive, I had a number of scares when I’d use the bathroom in the middle if the night and not realized she decided to join me. Wet nose and wiskers touching your face unexpectedly in the dark!

MoveDiagonally- thanks for the suggestion. I’m not sure but I think he might be able to fit through those bars. He is just a wee little man. I would have to look around for one that works.
Megabunny- Thanks for reassuring me that the cleaning solution will be fine when it dries. I was worried! I think I will just accept that the goofy man will just be a little intrusive for now. Hope everyone is as accepting as I am with this situation
JackRabbit- I’m not sure about kids, but Kraken definitely acts as our child.

What a goober!! Kraken makes life so much more entertaining.
