Morning peeps! After the loss of Brian bubblebum last year, we decided not to upset ruby by getting another bun. However a few months ago in pets at home we spotted a gorgeous bun called Alfie in need of a home as his owner couldn’t look after him anymore. We ummed and ahhhed and left the store thinking if he was still there the next day we’d take him. On the way home my hubby had to turn back three times when I changed my mind. Sooooo he came home with us that day!!! Hubby built a fab hutch for him as he’s an outside bun and he’s too old to get the snip so he spends his time between his hutch and our living room (with his “humpy” ball. A squishy toy rugby ball that he likes to….well…….hump). Happy days, and ruby has settled well without Brian too.

So I get in from work on Monday to hubby and stepson sat at the table, “we have a situation”, they say, and I get led into the garden, where a gorgeous albino bun was peering at me. Stepson is a chef and his bosses aunt bred rabbits but couldn’t manage due to ill health. Five were rehomed, but they couldn’t find a home for this last one. His boss was going to turn it into a stew!!!!!!!! Stepson says I would never have forgiven him so he had to save it. Soooo cute, loves cuddles. No idea if boy or girl. Deffo has lionhead in too as has a wispy head, tooooo cute. This morning it obtained a name, Biffy (gotta love the biffy clyro!!!!)

          Congrats on the new buns.
How old is Alfie? I don’t think there’s really an age limit to fixing him, as long as he’s not a senior bun/ has other health issues…

Oh. That probably counts as a senior, then, and I don’t blame you. Are you going to keep three separate bunnies? You’ll be busy

I don’t blame you for not wanting to put him through that at that age.

Ruby is a house bun in the small bedroom, with the tortoises, snake and lizards (they’re in cages!!), Alfie has a huge hutch outside and comes in every night, and biffy has another hutch outside so we alternate between the two of them coming in. We were hoping to introduce Alfie to the free roaming guinea pigs in the garden but he’s territorial. So we will c what biffys like with them when it gets warmer. We know guineas don’t always get on with bunnies due them bullying, but biffy is soooo docile, and as can’t see perfectly they might be ok together. We can but try. Then there’s the fish…and the rescue gerbils….busy busy!! ?
