I’m totally new to bonding & I had some questions on what signs are good and which are bad.
We are only on day 1. Lots of nose rubbing to eavh other through the cage only 2 grunts, but not sure from who.
This morning I put their salads next to each other on either side of the xpen. Both ate no problem.
But Ziggy, my original bun, does something weird. He runs around lots with binkies thrown in. Is this a good sign? Also, after a little nosr rub session with Lily ( new bun), he’ll jump on the couch & sit next to me. He almost never does that.
How do I know when it’s ok to proceed with a face to face meet? No cage or xpen between them?
sorry for the novel, I’m just so nervous and my anxiety is thru the roof!!!

It sounds like your buns are doing well! I do think that it is time to have them meet officially. One way I like for rabbits to meet is on a table. Place a towel down and plunk them next to each other. You can start by doing some forced snuggling where you keep them together while petting them. This will calm them down and allow them to meet in a calm manner. Then let go, take a deep breath, and watch them interact. You may want to keep an oven mitt near just in case you need to break up any scuffles.

Check out http://www.thebunnyguru.com/care-guide/bunny-bonding/ for more ideas on this.

I think this will go well, just remember to take a breath. I know it is hard, I still have anxiety over bonding rabbits, but it really does help to relax a bit. Maybe have someone to talk to while doing this to distract you so you don’t get too overwhelmed, or put on something funny on the TV at a quiet volume.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
