So the time is coming up for Loki to be neutered, and someone recently asked me the question “will he be different after he is fixed”

and now.. i’m starting to wonder if he will be! from someone who has had their bunny fixed, I am wondering, do their attitudes completely change after? or will my bunny still be the same?

If you consider his hormonal behaviors to be part of his personality, then yes that will change. His overall, true personality should not change because he is neutered. I don’t know how old he is, but do keep in mind that their personality as a baby is not the same as when they are an adult. This has absolutely nothing to do with spaying/neutering. All bunnies settle into their adult personalities as they come of age.

Oh and remember, immediately following the neuter he might be a little crazy. But this will typically resolves itself once hormones have settled (takes 4 to 6 weeks).

yeah i’m aware that he’ll change as he gets older. I was just wondering if he wouldn’t be as happy. because right now he’s always so happy and hyper, and I’d hate for that to change.

Bramble’s ‘good’ behaviours didn’t really change (other than in the first few weeks after surgery) he is a lot less frustrated and not at all aggressive anymore. Oh and he is definitely still hyper! He is a little under a year old so he is still a hyper teenager I guess.
