I often spend time just chilling out in my bunny room – I will sit on the floor and read while they run around and play.

Anyway, I was in there the other day with a cup of camomile tea and the buns were very interested in it!  They wanted to taste it but it was too hot for them.

I know they can eat camomile so I don’t suppose it would do them any harm (I checked and the ingredients are 100% camomile, no nasties in there) – but I’m surprised at how interested they were to be honest! I think if it had been cool they would have definitely tried it.

Would it be ok to give them a little bit of cooled camomile tea? I want to let them try as many things as possible but I don’t want to give them anything that would be bad for them.  Would it be ok for their digestive system to have something like this?  I did google but I got a mixed response, so I was wondering if anyone else here had had experience with this?

I think it would be fine in small amounts. I was at a friends place recently and her two guinea pigs came out for a visit and were up on the table. I had peppermint tea. Well, it appears GP’s like peppermint. After several attempts one of them got the teabag and it was quite the battle retrieving it. After that I put a little of the cold remaining tea on the table for them and they loved it. It was a warm day and they had plenty of greens and water and even some water melon but the peppermint tea was what they really wanted.

I wonder if they would like peppermint tea too! I do feed them fresh mint leaves sometimes as a treat and they LOVE it.

I’m thinking if they like it it could be a good way to get fluids into them if they are poorly. (Having said that my buns are both great drinkers).

I think I will try them with a little cooled tea in a dish as an experiment. I think it’s nice to share with them (I often take a bowl of veggies in and eat some for myself and feed some to them haha) so I would like to be able to share my tea too!
