So my rabbit went from free roam of a 900 sq ft apartment to being confined to a decent sized office in a house. He can’t be free roam right now because of renovations, because doors are constantly being opened and left open. He has all his stuff he had before & more. He has a big wooden hidey/play house (the length of an x-pen), a crinkle tunnel, 3 connectable pop up cat cubes, 3 beds, baby keys, baby stacking cups, all the hay a bunny could ever want. He has no front teeth so he can’t chew stuff but he hasn’t cared about that in awhile. I made a horrible mistake of letting him run around the house at night and now he wants to all the time.

The only thing he likes to do is make noise, hop around, and watch people. The more noise the better. For example, today he somehow managed to knock down a VERY heavy door. My fiance was SURE Goblin had killed himself, and had a mini heart attack as he ran to my office thinking about how to explain my rabbit commit suicide, and Goblin was just sitting on top of the door staring at my fiance like “Whats up???”. He also has a history of kicking  walls and shredding paper.

He is VERY!!!!!! grumpy about being confined. He pushes the door constantly with his nose banging it and thumping his foot when I’m in or out of the room. He also scratches at the bottom of the door. Whenever I hang out with him (a lot, mostly at night when he is awake the most, & I stay up till early AM hours. He hangs out with me and is sweet for a bit but then he’s like “Ok, now that you gave me my ear massage, open the dang door!!!!” and bumps me with his nose over and over, runs to the door, bumps the door, then comes back and bumps me, repeat.

He clearly wants out. He can’t be out though at least for another two weeks!!!!!!!! I don’t know how to entertain him until then. I’ve been cleaning up the yard and thinking about putting him out in his xpen on nice days but that might make it worse when he learns there is even MORE he cant have.

How do I entertain a too smart bunny????

That is one determined bunny! Too bad he can’t run around out in that area once the construction is done for the day. Sounds like you’re doing everything. I can’t imagine what more you could do. Sorry.

Two weeks is not long He can wait and he’ll adjust happily when he’s allowed out again

If possible and he is OK being held, why don’t you take him for a tour of the changes while he’s in your arms? (providing doors are closed) -he’s probably very curious.

I wish he let me hold him. He will crawl and lay all over me but the minute he thinks I’m trying to carry him he’s gone lol. The only picking up he lets me do is when I hold his front paws under his head and lift his front half up/down or pulling him closer when he’s very relaxed after ear rubs.

But yes……..he is very curious. A little too curious lol.
