So when i got honey from the fair i was pretty sure she had ear mites but when i took her to the vet he didnt find anything and just concluded that she had lice which was remedied and all was good. She still would shake her head and scratch a bit at her ears but nothing as allarming as when she had the lice. This afternoon i took a good look in her ear and can now see the signs of mites coming up from the inside of her ear. Im taking her to the vet as soon as possible but feel terrible that she had this possibly the whole time and im worried that she could have damage to her ear because of it. Maybe im just stressed with school and adding worry to this and its just simple.

has anyond delt with ear mites before and am i freaking out over nothing? Also what should i do for cleaning, they say to clean all the places the mites could have fallen off but she is free range  in the apartment so that could be everywhere.

Best treatment is Revolution (selamectin) It’s a topical application (behind the head) and it treats their environment as well as them. That said you still need to have a pretty good clean up around the place, some intensive vacuum sesssions etc. Ensuring regular treatment the next few months will prevent reinfestation and also progressively treat the living areas. Make sure you give all her bedding and toys a good wash.
