Just curious if anyone at BB has ever had an animal communicator talk to their bunnies. I had one talk to one of my horses in the past and it was fun and quite accurate. I’m thinking of having one talk to the bunnies and my two horses.
I haven’t but I’m always intrigued by the subject!
I considered more then once doing this with Jersey to help me resolve her urinating in the floor. I also thought about it after she passed away when I was looking for closure. I just never saw it through.
I’d really like to hear more about the experience with your horse.
Are you going to use the same person for your rabbits?
There’s a reference to Kim Meyer in Rabbit Health in the 21stC and she apparently only works with rabbits.

Bunnylu also has affiliated with a communicator but there still isn’t much info on their page yet.

Yes…and I’ll be honest, I couldn’t tell if it was accurate or not. Yes, it was fun, but was it helpful, not really. BTW it was Kim Meyer who did mine and it was years ago.
Sarita — what exactly did she do?
It’s been many years ago but I think she just wanted a photo of them and then she gave me a transcript of what she said they told her. I don’t think it wasn’t anything that I could have figured out myself…but then maybe I’m a skeptic…it was on some rabbits that have since passed or been adopted. I wish I could remember specifically anything but I cannot.
I think I may have posted about it too when I did it but it was so long ago that I cannot even pull it up on the search.
I never have. I don’t really know where I stand on the issue. I want to believe it but I guess I’m a bit of a skeptic as well.
When my little Stormy died, I was just a mess and I bought a book on pets and the afterlife. I’ll try to find it and get the name for you. It was all about pet communicators and reincarnation. I thought it was a bit “out there” but it had some nice parts that made me feel more at peace with his passing.
Not really the same thing, but the same area, I have a friend who does Reiki for animals. Her clients are mostly horses. What are your feelings on that? Same as communication, I think it’s great if it’s real but I’m a bit of a skeptic.
I do have a very spiritual side, but just not really sure if I believe these things is all.
Hmmm…I’m intrigued! Maybe this is how we convince Pumpkin to stop peeing on us!
Hmm…I am a skeptic coming to that. I really think that they are just working off of a good knowledge of animal behavior and past experience. But that’s just me. And that might even be what you want.
Is an animal communicator like a pet psychic? If they’re anything like people psychics, I would say they probably work off of general human experiences and by being very familiar with behaviors. I don’t think they probably have special powers or anything. Kind of like the show Psych – people thought he had supernatural powers, but really he was just super observant and in tune to details.
Still, it would be awesome if we could know why our little guys do what they do.
I love Psych!!! Lol but I agree.
I can only imagine what my bunnies would have to say . …!
I’ll be using a different communicator than the last one I used for my horse – just because the one I’m trying now has a lot of good reviews for multiple species, and she’s a little less expensive!
I have an appointment this Sunday, so I will keep you guys updated with how it goes.
It sounds fun. I would do it for fun but I don’t know if I would take it seriously. Unfortunately where I live I doubt I could find one. I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Luckily a lot of communicators will do long-distance – the one I’m using is in PA, I’m in IL. I email her with photos of each pet, and their names and breeds. Then she will call me and tell me what they’re saying.
It’ll be fun for sure!
Yes tell us how it goes! I’m so intrigued! I looked up the one that Jerseygirl used (Kim) and it’s actually not too expensive!
Jerseygirl didn’t use her – I did. Honestly I think if you do it, just do it because it’s fun – you have no guarantees that what they are saying is the truth because how would you know….
Ooops yep I see that–I clicked on her link to get to Kim.
I agree. I do think it good to approach this sort of thing with a sense of fun, an open mind and healthy skepticism.
Yeah LLH, I never bit the bullet but her price was good.
Thanks for the feedback Sarita! I do have to wonder about people who do specific animals or own them themselves. They’d be pretty familiar with common behaviours and I wonder if that would influence what they say?
LLH, why not try this exercise. Lie down near Pumpkin and ask (not out loud) “why do you pee on us?”. I’d love to know what the first thought is that pops into your mind!
Yeah, you might feel silly and people think you crazy but hey, people already do think we are, loving rabbits the way we do! Nothing to lose really.
Bunnnnnie, hope it goes well !

I agree with this completely.
I can’t wait to hear. I think some are more reputable than others, like with human psychics. I read the book about that animal psychic and if what she said is true, well, yeah. But sometimes these people come up with things they never could have known. I have a friend…well, I did when we lived near each other, and she said she can talk to animals. I actually paid her and sent a picture, but she was sick and couldn’t get to it for a long time and I wanted the $75 for something else so I asked her to rip up the check. But apparently someone she knows is sensitive to animals and figured out that a dog in the show ring wouldn’t do something because he wanted ice cream, so they gave him ice cream and he finished the show right the next time. Who knows? I can’t wait to hear. I’d love to hire a medium to contact my father but am afraid to mess with that stuff…plus I don’t have a job.
I’d considered this ages ago. There is one about three hours from where I lived. I asked her about her rates and said it would be in the future as I’d have to travel there. She offered to do a ‘reading’ from a photograph.
Yeah I stopped there.
I’m sure there are people who can be greatly sensitive to animals -I mean Temple Grandin is amazing-but no one can read from a photo!
Well my appointment was yesterday – and it was fun. As I mentioned, I don’t take it too seriously but it’s neat to see how accurate the communicator can be.
All I gave her was the bunnies’ names, breeds, ages, and a photo of each. She started the call saying Zeus was opinionated and very much a chatterbox, while Hera was more quiet and reserved. She said neither bunny is much of a fan of each other – and Zeus wasn’t sure why I got Hera in the first place, LOL! She said there was something about how the litter feels on Zeus’s paws that he doesn’t like, and suggested trying a different litter. I also didn’t mention to her that they’re free-range when I’m home, and she asked “Do they roam around the house? Because Zeus says he hop hop hops all around the house and likes to see everything.”
She also said Zeus says he doesn’t like the carpeting we currently have because it smells bad – our carpet is very old and gross so I can believe that.
She said Hera was handled roughly by her breeder, and that most likely explains why she can be aloof and is easily startled. She also said Hera will often seek me out in the house and come all the way up to me – but then stop a few feet just shy of my feet. Hera does do this, pretty often. She said it’s because Hera wants to get closer to me and is learning to trust, but she’s still not very confident about it.
All in all I enjoyed the experience, and for $35 it was a fun thing to do. I am going to try some shavings and some Carefresh litter for Zeus – doesn’t hurt to try.
Oh fun bunnnnnnie! Who did you use?
No, no Jersey! You have to ask out loud! LOL! I know Megabunny already thinks I’m nuts (love you anyway Jackie!), but I have “conversations” (well, one-sided ones!) all the time!
LLH – I would be having the “we don’t pee on mommy and daddy” talk with Pumpkin! My bunnies always seem to listen so intently when I we have “the talks”. Its really cute. We’ve had “pee pee goes in the potty”, “we don’t chew on mommy’s phone”, “we don’t hump Moshi’s face”, and “we don’t bite Moshi’s butt” talks. I’ve tried the “we don’t cram our bed and all of our toys into the ramp opening” talk with Kieko, but she’s not the most obedient bunny anyway. I always feel better after our talks! LOL!
^. I chat with mine too JR ; )
bunnnnnie, I think I’d be happy with that too. And it’s a good fee.
The skeptic in me says “what could she guess at from details in the photos?” but that’s only when my logical mind steps in. How have you found the bunnies since? Some people say they notice differences in their demeanour afterward.
I used Nancy Walker – http://www.dimensions56.com/animalCommunication.html . I would use her again.
I’m trying out aspen shavings with Zeus now, per her suggestion to try something other than the pine pellets – I will report back as to any changes in Zeus’s litterbox habits!
What fun!!! That’s a great story. Who knows??? I tend to really buy into that stuff, so I find it really fun and interesting. Thanks for keeping us updated
Just a little update; since switching him to the aspen shavings, we have so far zero accidents. I only started him on the shavings on Monday so it has only been 4 days, but it seems to be an improvement so far.
The only negative; shavings being tracked everywhere! LOL!
That fee isn’t bad at all. It sounded interesting and fun. I wonder what she would have to say about my rabbits and my other pets.
Oooooo Let us know Sindriona!!
Bunnnie that’s really interesting that you’ve had such luck with changing litter. Seems like they often get thrown by changes, so, hmmm. Cool!
